Surulere residents challenged their councillors to visit their wards and not wait for another election. Most of the councillors were accused of not attending CDA meetings in their ward and so are unaware of the challenges faced by the people they represent.
This was stated by Participants at the grassroots engagement hosted by the Surulere LGA and organised by the The Future Project. The event held quarterly has become a veritable platform for people at the grassroots to meet with their representatives at the local government. The latter see it as an opportunity to account for their stewardship.
