Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow has approved a plan to recruit 149 nurses and midwives to general hospitals and other public health centres in the state. Musa Kaibo, the state head of service made this known on Thursday in Yola at a reception to honour the General Secretary of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Thomas Shettima. The governor emphasized the commitment of his administration to the welfare of health workers, the governor stated that the salaries of health workers especially nurses in the state have been consistent.
It would be recalled that the governor earlier this month embarked on the construction of nine blocks of three classrooms, eight toilets and four boreholes in seven local government areas of the state. This project cost the government N1.1 billion
