Lagos tracker: Three bad roads in Surulere LGA that needs immediate attention

by Ajadi Daniel

Surulere local government is one of the richest local government in Lagos state, yet the level of infrastructural deficit in the LGA is alarming. Given the fact that Surulere is gradually becoming a back up for the already overcrowded Victoria Island, one would have expected to see better inner roads that aid economic activities. Only few of the inner roads in Surulere are in good shape, especially those that were recently constructed. The Lawanson Itire road, Ijesha road, Idi-Araba road, Adeshina street are among the popular roads in Surulere that are currently in bad shape with no attempt from the LGA to fix them. Another baffling question is, Is the State government or the LGA only interested in roads that have commercial viability for them? This is based on the fact that most of  the few good roads in Surulere are actually those that are home to corporate organizations, like the Adeniran Ogunsanya Road, Ogunlana Drive, Akerele and others.

Although some part of Ijesha, Lawanson and even Idi-Araba falls under Mushin Local government.

  1. Lawanson Road

2) Itire Ijesha Road
