Ondo state governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has directed that primary school teachers in the state be included in the category of state workers that often enjoy car and housing loans. The governor gave the order at the 5th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Ondo state wing which was held at the teachers’ house in the state capital, Akure. The Commissioner for Education in the state has reportedly received the order of the governor to that effect. The governor stated that the scheme would be tagged ‘Primary School Loans Scheme’, according to him the decision to begin the scheme would be presented to the State Executive Council for its seal. The governor further stated that the new scheme would provide equal opportunity for primary school teachers like their counterparts in the service of the state government.
