Despite the fact that Alakija is basically an intersection between Satellite Town, and FESTAC, this road is in a complete state of disrepair. The gridlock that occurs as a result of the state of the road is nothing to write home about. It doesn’t help that a lot of fuel tankers thread this path, because of the numerous filling stations in the area and the pipe line around the area.
The road has been in this deplorable state for more than two years with no attempt from the state government to address the situation.
Despite the road’s importance to the government, they have decided to neglect its maintenance. This causes a few casualties, in form of fallen tankers and further destruction of roads, and sometimes accidents.
