Idi-Araba in Surulere, Lagos was flooded today after due to the rain, this is not the first time it is happening. It is not caused by the heaviness of the rain but by poor drainage system, which is in turn partly caused by the fact that the drainage channels are blocked.

The flood which affected the first LUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital) gate is an incessant occurrence. Their is a large canal where the drainage is emptied, but the canal is also not flowing due to refuse blockage.

The gridlock in the picture is caused by the flood, vehicles find it to navigate through LUTH gate due to the flood.
