Budget tracker: Bauchi Gov presents N145bn 2017 budget proposal

Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi presented a budget proposal of N145bn for the 2017 fiscal year to the State Assembly.

The budget tagged ‘budget of sustainable development’ is made up of N58bn for recurrent expenditure and N86.602bn for capital expenditure representing 40 and 60 per cent respectively.

The budget has over N10bn increase as against the 2016 proposed budget.

The recurrent revenue of over N83.682bn according to the governor consisted of internally generated revenue of over N11.182bn and statutory allocation. The recurrent expenditure estimate stood at N58.845bn with personal cost gulping overN28.087bn, overheads cost N20.715bn and consolidated revenue fund charges of over N10.042bn.

The governor said the government would borrow, both internally and externally, over N29.620bn with aids and grants of N18.012bn expected. He added that the economic sector would gulp N43.486bn while the social sector would take over N31.895bn.
