Budget tracker: Sokoto State’s N204.3 billion 2017 budget

Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal presented a budget estimate of N204.3 billion to the state House of Assembly

The budget is about N29.9billion above the 2016 budget of N174 billion

For the second year running, education sector got the highest allocation of over N38.43 billion, representing 27.3 per cent of the budget.

Capital projects got 69% of the entire budget, while 31 per cent is dedicated to recurrent expenditure.

Ministry of Works and transport got N16.2 billion

Ministry of water resources and environment got N10.7 billion, the health sector got N7.7 billion while the Ministry of Housing, lands and survey got N8.2 billion.

Ministry of rural and community development got N5.6 billion

Ministry of solid minerals and natural resources development got N1.7 billion

Ministry of commerce, industries and tourism got N4 billion.
