Constituency projects in the 2018 budget costs 100 billion

The Zonal or constituency projects in the 2018 budgets costs N100, billion. Constituency projects are taken up by legislators representing a certain constituency or senatorial district. They implement the project through the MDAs where it is domiciled.

 Training/Skill acquisition for Eti-Osa federal constituency in Lagos which costs N30 million, the project is domiciled in the Ministry of Women Affairs. Also domiciled in the ministry of women affairs is the Supply of used Golf Volkswagen cars to Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency, Ondo state, the project cost N20 million.

In the transport sector, you should be expecting projects such as Youth empowerment program in Kaduna at the cost of N30 million, training of mechanics of tricycles, welders, vulcanizers in Kudu/Buki Fed constituency, Jigawa at the cost of N21 million all under the constituency or zonal projects.

In the ministry of trade and investment, constituents in Oyo central senatorial district should be expecting a Youth Training and start-up Capital at the cost N50 million. Purchase of 2 and 3 irrigation water pumps for farmers in Kebbi central senatorial district at the cost of N50 million, the project is also under the Ministry of Trade & Investment.

In Akwa-Ibom has a constituency project which involves grants for ten LGAs at the cost of N200, million, it’s also domiciled in the ministry of trade and investment. Grants for Artisans in Ijebu-Ode LGA, Ogun state at the cost of N39 million; empowerment for unemployed youths and women of Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa federal constituency, Osun at the cost of N45, million. Empowerment and poverty alleviation items for Oshodi Isolo federal constituency at the cost of N20 million.

In the ministry of labour, some of the projects expected to be implemented are supply of grinding machines and sewing machines in Taruani fed constituency, Kano state at the cost of N10.5 million.

Community support program for Sakaba & Danko Wasagu LGAs in Kebbi at the cost of N55.2 million. Supply of Bajaj/Boxer motorcycles in Shiroro/Rafi/Munya fed constituency, Niger state at the cost of N30, million. Supply of Tricycles and sewing machines in Gombe, Kwami & Funake federal constituency at the cost of N41 million. Construction of four blocks of classrooms with fencing in gamawa and Zaki LGAs of Bauchi north Senatorial district, Bauchi at the cost of N20 million. Supply of 2.5KVA generators for Empowerment in Nasarawa North Senatorial District, Nasarawa at the cost of N30 million. Supply of farming equipment in Nasarawa north senatorial district, Nasarawa state at the cost N30 million.

In the health sector, some of the projects expected to be implemented are Medical outreach in Panshin/Kanke/Kanam LGAs, Plateau state, Phase I at the cost of N50 million; Free Medical Mission/HCT at Obi LGA, Benue at the cost of N20 million; Training of community health works in Ogbaru federal constituency, Anambra state at the cost of N50, million, a medical outreach in the same ogbaru, Anambra at the cost of N100 million; Construction of Tuberculosis unit and furnishing at filya Kaltungo/shongom federal constituency, Gombe at the cost of N100 million; supplies of medical equipment/health outreach in Obangede Okehi LGA, Kogi at the cost N20 million.

It is important that you begin to hold your representatives in the National Assembly responsible regarding the implementation of these projects.
