First Bank of Nigeria Limited (FBN) on Monday donated 3,100 bags of cement and bundles of roofing sheets to Borno state government for the rebuilding and rehabilitation of communities destroyed by Boko Haram in the state.

Alhaji Abba Hassan, the Zonal Manager of the bank makes the presentation at the Borno Government House in Maiduguri. He said the donation was to complement the State Government’s effort to rebuild destroyed communities and resettle IDPs living in camps.

“The monumental destruction of lives and property by Boko Haram is a serious concern to both the state government and the bank.

“We find it necessary to complement the efforts of the state government in rebuilding the destroyed communities, so that the IDPs could return to their ancestral homes.

“The management of the bank was also moved by the concern exhibited by Gov Kashim Shettima to relocate to Bama for a week to commence the rebuilding of the towns destroyed by the insurgents in 2014.

“The partnership with the Borno state government and the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), to the public, including the IDPs had been affected by Boko Haram insurgency not only in the state but the entire North-East”, Hassan said.
