Local Government Performance Assessment  kicks off in Kwara State.

Kwara State

Local government authority exists to provide an organized system where they exercise their power and act responsibly to work together for peace, order and good governance in their respective districts.

The third tier of government in Nigeria is currently devoid of Accountability. As a result, corruption, interference from the state government, and bad leadership abound at the local level. YMonitor is spearheading an initiative that looks into the activities of the local government, assessing their performance and making critical recommendations.

The local government performance report, an initiative of YMonitor, is heading to the North Central Region of the country, where the spotlight is currently on Kwara state. The first of its kind in the region. Research supports will go around the area, gathering data from the residents across the 16 local governments in the state.

The project is aimed at providing insight into how the people of Kwara evaluate the performance of their local government authorities. Our research supports will take surveys, and a report will be available at the end of the scheme.

Follow us on our social media platforms on how to partake in the evaluation and for other information.
