by YWriter

We spoke with traders in mile 12 on the planned relocation of the market to Imota in Ikorodu, and most of the respondents were opposed to the idea. The mile 12 market which is reputed to be the largest perishable food stuff market in West Africa has become a source of livelihood to even the lowliest of traders.

Many of the traders who claimed to have been in the market for more than a decade said it will be difficult for them to adapt to the new location at Imota. Some of them claimed that the present location of the market is convenient and accessible, and it is easier to move goods from the market to any location, they claimed this will be difficult in the new location. Some of them even cite security reasons for their being against the new location.
