For a long time now, Nigeria has been dancing at the edge of a cliff, running a risk of falling off to the valley of economic disaster. Our ‘wonderful’ stewards over the year, like the spendthrift prodigal son, squander our commonwealth and fail to diversify the diet of the economy.
Now, the economy is showing symptoms of chronic kwashiorkor. Yet, rather than judiciously using our now meagre resources and revive the ailing economy, our band of Artful Dodgers continue to seek foreign loans that are always getting lost on their way to whichever project they were slated for.
We keep chanting ‘God bless Nigeria’, while our long-throat leaders bless their own pockets, fail the economy, and promote corruption. It’s already looming in the air… Sapa is coming!
