Since the inception of this democratic journey in 1999, Nigerian Polithievecians have always been pulling wool over the eyes of their fellow countrymen and women by making promises they never intended to fulfil just to secure their votes. This is despite their regular and infamous backup plan of rigging their way into steering the people’s affairs. And afterwards, they bask in the self-deceiving aura of legitimacy.
Yet, without being ashamed of failing to deliver on campaign promises, our Ogas at the top would periodically make new ones as though they are getting high on it. This seems to be the situation with the proposed National Carrier, which remains an ‘Audio Carrier’ 3 years after its launching. A dangerous promise-and-fail culture is sweeping over the country while we look on helplessly.
