by YMonitor
As part of her project monitoring advocacy, YMonitor would be launching project pothole tracker which aims at bringing to the attention of respective agencies the terrible state of roads in the country.
The project would be tracking roads with potholes in three states of the federation which are Ogun, Oyo and Lagos. Towards achieving this, YMonitor will deploy pothole observers within these states in order to identify same and monitor road maintenance projects in general.
Information gathered will therefore be published on our website and will be used to demand response from the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) where the road is under federal supervision, and where it concerns the state; the respective state agencies would be contacted to address the situation.
Citizens are welcome to send in pictures of roads around them ridden with potholes or areas with open manholes.
They can also upload pictures of these roads and tag @Y_Monitor on Twitter or IG.
Such stories would be published on a special vertical on the YMonitor website dedicated to doing same.
Online and offline advocacy would then be carried out to amplify the issues to respective authorities as described above.
Online advocacy on this issue would be led with #FixThisPothole and #FixThisManhole.
