The Nigerian Army rescued another abducted Chibok schoolgirl.
Military Authorities claimed that the girl was rescued by troops in the early hours of Saturday during an operation against Boko Haram insurgents at Pulka village of Gwoza local government in Borno State.
The girl who identified herself as, Maryam Ali Maiyanga was found with a 10 month old baby. She informed the soldiers that her son, whom she bore to Boko Haram member, is named Ali.
The spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Col. Sani Usman said in a statement that the girl had been taken to a military facility for medical attention.
“Troops of 121 Battalion, Nigerian Army, deployed at Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, for Operation Lafiya Dole today, Saturday 5th November 2016, at about 6.ooam, while screening some escapees from Boko Haram terrorists hideout in Sambisa forest, discovered one of the abducted Government Secondary School Chibok girls, named Maryam Ali Maiyanga among them,”
“She was discovered to be carrying a 10 month old son, named Ali. She has been taken to the unit’s facility for proper medical checkup.
“It is imperative to state that troops have been working round the clock to clear remnants of Boko Haram terrorists wherever they might be hibernating and also rescue all persons held hostage by terrorists,” he said.
