While the present administration continuously prides itself on its war against corruption, Nigeria’s ranking on the corruption perception index has continued to drop in the last four years.
With the current ranking, Nigeria is now the second most corrupt country in West Africa. In Africa, only 12 countries are perceived to be more corrupt than Nigeria. This is despite the incumbent presidentship’s anti-graft campaigns.
However, the current low ranking is no surprise. Between 2011 till date, Nigeria’s score has varied from 24% to 28%, & its ranking from 136th to 149th.
