The demolition according to sources started last week. It was to give room for the new airport road project undertaken by the Lagos state government. Shops, banks were among the structures affected. One of the traders YMonitor spoke to said “We are not against development, we know this is to our advantage, but we would also appreciate the government if they can relocate or give us new stalls” he said.
A woman we attempted speaking with angrily declined telling us that she is not interested after her shop has been demolished, since she is standing in front of what use to be her shop. The project has already commenced.
