State of Unemployment

The State of Unemployment, literally.

Out of the box is the Unemployment Report & recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics.

We crunched the numbers & break it down in a form so as to tell the real story: The Unemployment rate is increasing because Government’s activities to create jobs is not enough, is not sustained & overall, ineffective. 21.8 million Nigerians are unemployed, imagine if they were employed?

There is also a break down of unemployment numbers across Geo-political zones (North West currently has the highest people who are unemployed), States (Rivers State with the highest number of unemployed), Urban-Rural (the Rural areas are high focused points of unemployed). Does this break down, tell the stories of the State of Unemployment?

Also, there is a final crunch of the State of Unemployment sees comparisons being made with the Countries having the highest unemployment rate in the continent, as well as age group comparisons & gender comparisons.

Some terms to note;
Working population: People who are working AND people who are able to work but are not gainfully employed.
Labour force: People who are able to work & are gainfully employed.

Facts-sheet:
There are more female who are able to work but are not gainfully employed than male, does this tell a story & show perspective?

Is the future female afterall?
Should there be more female enabling opportunities?
