YMonitor Election Series: Use of Telephones and Other Electronic Gadgets at the Polling Units

Mobile telephones are ubiquitous, and they have become a pertinent tool in our day-to-day activities. So, it is inevitable that INEC will make laws that guide the use of these gadgets during elections.

Mobile phones and other electronic devices are permitted at polling units; however, they are not allowed in the voting cubicles and booths.

Why? You may ask yourself. This law was made to protect voters so they can cast their ballots in secret without the prying lens of a mobile phone
