YMonitor Issue 016: Broken Record

by Eyo Emmanuel

Remember when in a not too distant past when CD’s were the in thing and that’s how you listened to your music. .

If you’re a 90’s kid I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. New generation 2000’s kids aka the real millennials feel free to have several seats on this one.

There’s always that one song you love so much that you can’t help but play constantly and it’s just a matter of time that the song becomes irritating because as one line of the song keeps getting repeated over and over again, at that point you know there’s something wrong with your CD.

The President seems to be getting his inspiration from cracked CD’s as at the 49th Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) talked about the damaging effects of corruption on the country and went on and on, on how people get away with all manner of things when accountants are unable to check them.

Not only have we heard this whole say no to corruption stance over and over again. It’s amusing how he addresses corruption like he’s on the outside when he’s the President. If after four years he’s still singing the same old song, we can expect it’s clearly not going to be the last.
