EFCC monitor: Reuben Abati offers to refund N5 million to EFCC

The former Presidential spokesman, Abati has told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that he only has N5 million to reimburse the government.

Abati who was detained when he reported at the EFCC headquarters a week ago reportedly admitted during his interrogation that he received N50 million from a former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.

Abati offered to refund N5 million to the government. Abati reportedly said that he did not keep note of how he disbursed the N50 million he got, he said he does not keep notes of such expenses as they were doled out to media practitioners across the country as part of the 2015 campaign activities.

Abati has not been able to meet the bail requirements, which included presenting a senior federal civil servant.
