Nigerians spend over N160 billion annually on UK universities

Considering Nigeria’s economic challenges, the multitude of Nigerian students abroad causes a financial drain which subtly affects the nation’s economy and educational sector. Especially because most of these universities Nigerians send their wards to are considered to have one of the highest tuition fees in the world.

#OnOurRadar today, we explored the amount spent by Nigerians in UK universities annually. We discovered that the annual amount paid by Nigerians schooling abroad is more than the yearly allocation to the Ministry of Education.
