The Ecological Fund established in 1981, was created to solve serious environmental problems such as Soil erosion, flooding, drought, oil spillage, general environmental pollution, bush fires, landslides etc.
Initially, 1% of revenues in the Federation Account was set aside for solving Ecological problems. Now, 2%.
However, it’s implementation continues to be ineffective. It has continued to face various reported diverted funds.
There’s a need to audit the EFO (Ecological Fund Office). It’s #OnOurRadar & we would track & share more about this project.
