YMonitor Infographics: What the figures say about Kogi

by Usman Alabi

Do you think Kogi state’s governance record has been impressive? Not an industrial state like Lagos, its commercial base is agriculture and the government is the largest employer of labour.

Kogi is still reliant on federal allocation as her internally generated revenue is way below  her federal allocation in 2018, it had N53 billion in federal allocation last year while the IGR was N11billion.

The state is notorious for owing workers salaries and there are little or no changes in terms of governance infrastructures different from the usual pattern.

Kogi need to develop industrial agricultural capacities to expand her internally generated revenue and also come up with policies that gives room for private sector participation in the state.
