National Library project still under construction eleven years after it was formally started.
The project is yet to be completed after it formally started 11 years ago according to Dr Olorunkiya.
Dr Olorunkiya is a construction expert, he said “This project came up today in my presentation on project management and practice at NIOB FCT chapter, the project is abandoned with no end in sight as we speak. It’s been like this for ages, it’s by the Federal Secretariat.

“It started formally 11 years ago. Nothing happened under the last administration, also the present one. It was one of my case studies today including the Osun mini water project.
Abandoned project is not an unusual phenomenon in Nigeria, the irony is just that in spite of the fact these projects litter everywhere in the country, yet they are under-reported. It is a major accountability and transparency issue in Nigeria.

A browse through the National library website shows dummy picture of what the project would look like after it has been completed, yet 11 and still counting; the project is yet to see the light of the day.
