YMonitor Publishes Report on Local Government Performance in Kwara State

Many Nigerians are unaware of their Local Government officials and what they do. When it comes to accountability, Nigerians tend to gloss over the role of Local Government. Like all levels of government, the LG holds a pivotal space in our polity and must be scrutinized.

The need to hold LG officials accountable prompted the launch of our third Local Government Performance Report, a case study set in Kwara State. 

To feel the pulse and know the sentiments of Kwarans, our volunteers journeyed the 16 Local Governments in Kwara State to get first-hand information and data on LG officials’ performance from the residents.

The results from these data were interesting, it prompted us to provide some recommendations on how the dividends of government can better be administered at the grassroot
