Grassroots development plays a very significant role in the nation’s Advancement. In an attempt to Foster such development, YMonitor has launched another edition of its Local Government Performance Report in Cross River State. The report aimed at assessing the delivery of public goods and services by local government administration in the state.
The first edition was held in Lagos state, where volunteers went around the 20 local governments in the state interviewing the residents. The published report gave an insight on how Lagosians assess the performance of their local government administrations with crucial recommendations on revitalising the local government system for effectiveness.
YMonitor research leads are currently In Cross River state to assess the residents’ perception about the performance of their local government authorities. We are gathering data from a wide demography of residents across the 18 local government areas. This is to give an insight into how different age groups perceive their local government performance. Investigative reports will also be published on crucial governance issues in the state.
