In the past, specific details of the Zonal Intervention Projects including project type, cost, and target sector have been jealously guarded from the Nigerian populace by the legislative arm of government.
The lack of transparency in turn aids the diversion of funds meant for this project into other quarters thereby obbing Nigerians of the dividends of democracy.
In the 2016 Appropriation Act for Nigerian lawmakers, N100 billion was slated for about 2,516 Zonal Intervention Projects.
